Jan Tamzejian
A native of the city of Damascus in Syria in a family involved in art and literature. The decision of becoming a pianist-composer is to open a new path in this familial history.

Admitted to the High Institute of Music in Damascus in the class of Vladimir Zaretski, he attend in 1997 the Nicolai Rubinstein International Competition in Moscow and win the fourth prize and a special prize of the great pianist and teacher Alberto Portugheis for the interpretation of Chopin's study No 7 Op 25. 

Winning a French government scholarship in 1999, he joined the class of HervĂ© Billaut at the Conservatoire RĂ©gional de Lyon for a year. 

Holds a State diploma obtained in 2008 in piano teaching as well as a Master degree in music education in middle schools.
